Cookie Policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on aquas.uk.
1.What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in the same way. We call all of these “cookies” in this policy.
2.Cookies we use
We do not use advertising cookies.
Strictly necessary (always on, no consent needed):
- Basket (aqua-basket): stored in your browser's local storage to remember the items in your basket. It stays until you empty your basket or clear your browser data.
- Cookie choice (aqua-consent): remembers whether you accepted or declined live chat cookies, so we don't ask again on every page.
Anonymous visit statistics (no cookies): we count page views, visitors and shop steps (such as adding to the basket) on our own server, without storing anything on your device and without keeping personal data. Visitors are counted with a one-way code that changes every day, so we can't identify you or follow you between days.
Only if you click Accept:
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): helps us understand how visitors use the site, including which pages and products are viewed and whether orders are completed. These cookies last up to 2 years. Google processes this data as described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- respond.io website chat: our live chat is provided by respond.io, which sets cookies and similar storage to keep your conversation going between pages and visits, and to pass it to our team or to WhatsApp. It only loads after you accept. If you decline, you can still contact us through the WhatsApp button, which is a plain link and sets no cookies on our site.
If you decline, neither Google Analytics nor live chat loads. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
3.Payment provider cookies
When you go to checkout, you are taken to a payment page run by Stripe, which sets its own cookies to process your payment securely and prevent fraud. These are covered by Stripe's cookie policy. Pay-later providers such as Klarna and Clearpay may also set cookies if you choose them.
4.Managing cookies
Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to accept or decline analytics and live chat cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block local storage, your basket will not be remembered between visits, but you can still place an order.
